What is looping?
A "Loop" is pre-made musical pattern that automatically repeats itself.
Looping, is using a several loops to create all of, or parts of a song. Most clapping you hear in today's "pop" music is actually a loop, not somebody that stood and clapped for 3 minutes into a microphone.
Some software (GarageBand, for example) have Loops that will automatically work with each other. For instance if you have a slow song, but a fast loop, the loop will automatically adjust to match the song. You can add as many loops as you'd like together and IT WILL sound awesome. You literally can't fail.
Other software (Soundtrap, which we will use later in this class) makes YOU decide which loops work with each and which don't. You can create some not-so-good sounding music if you are not careful.
Today, we will use a website called, Incredibox, to create two songs with loops.
Don't worry, these loops were made to all work with each other.
