An absolutely super afternoon concert from Brass Tracks.

Many thanks to Brass Tracks for such a lively, entertaining and varied concert. Highlights were beautiful arrangements Handel's beautiful Lascia ch'io pianga and Bizet's Carmen Suite and a work by horn player, Robert Newth. We were also treated to extra instruments with the post horn in Koening's Post Horn Galop and the sopranino recorder in Fairy Dance.

Graeme Williamson.

John Sampson studied at Napier University and is a member of the Royal Society of Musicians.. His television credits include 6 series of ‘Rab C Nesbitt’, ‘The Baldy Man’, ‘The Big Picnic’, ‘Border Warfare’, ‘John Brown’s Body’, ‘The Satire of the Fourth Estaite’ and the South Bank Show and performed in nearly every theatre in Scotland. He has made more than 30 tours of Europe with ‘Scarlatti’s Birthday Party’.

Fiona McLean Williamson took a Masters in Musical Performance while her brass quintet ‘Brass Spectrum’ studied as Ensemble in Residence at the Guildhall SMD. Fiona’s work spans early music to jazz, including orchestral, theatre and soul band work. She is the founder of Castle Brass. Fiona is a brass instructor for the City of Edinburgh Council and is the trombone specialist for Napier University and Edinburgh College.

Robert Newth graduated from the RCS in 2018 and now enjoys a busy freelance career performing regularly with Scottish Ballet, the RSNO, and the BBC SSO. He is a member of chamber group Prismatic Winds, and is the horn player for the Symphonic Ibiza UK tour. Robert works as a composer and musical director around the UK including London's West End.

Robert Fraser gained a BEd. in Music at RCS. He currently works for South Lanarkshire and Clackmannanshire Councils as a music instructor. Robert has directed many ensembles and took Whitburn Heartlands to National finals in 2015. Robert has played with Whitburn Band in London, Amsterdam, Belgium and France.
