Hello Hello! My Name is Grace Storti! I am a junior, and double majoring in Vocal Performance and Communications. I have been singing and acting since I could open my mouth, and I don't plan to stop anytime soon! I love playing guitar and piano, but most of all I LOVE spending time with friends. I believe that if you surround yourself with good people, you are destined to succeed.
Music Life History
As I stated previously, I dove head first into music the second I could. My Mom signed me up for a little elementary singing group when I was seven, and that's where everything began
Ever since that day I itch to perform, influence, and persuade others to join me.
I got my music fix through theatre. Before covid, I used to perform at least six shows a year, wherever I could. I absolutely loved it. However, my love for music definitely decreased during covid. That time frame was a super hard time for me, as i'm sure it was for everyone.
In my senior year of High School, I was Ariel in footloose. At that point I hadn't sung in front of people, let alone performed for an audience since my freshman year. Getting that feeling back was unlike anything i'll ever experience again in my life. That opportunity relit my fire for music. I dusted off my piano and guitar and picked up where I left off.
Ironically, I can't read a lick of music. I thought myself piano and guitar from ear, and my voice teacher helped me along the way with my musical theatre materials. That being said, I am very excited about my music theory, and other skills classes here at Highpoint. I am eager to learn and progress as a musician, due to my lack of fundamental training that would often hold me back in the past.
Music is what makes me me. Since I was a kid, I've had so much music buzzing in my brain, and i'm so grateful to be able to share that with all who are willing to listen. I have no idea where or who i'd be without this art form.
