Music Folder App Download

Why do this? I couldn't use Gnome Music before because it was loading all my voice recordings from ~/Music/Recordings and mixing a bunch of other random files in with my music which made a horrible shuffle experience. Now it plays only music as intended.

Nick,

I use and love Music Streamer app on my iOS devices. With it I can listen to any of the 14,000 digital tracks in my iTunes Media folder. I even. have copied this folder to my WD NAS and WD wireless drive.

There is a bug with recent versions of iTunes that will automatically reset the media folder to iTunes Media in the folder where the .itl file resides. No point in trying to fight that one. I suggest you put things back roughly where they ought to be, then read on.

The "missing file" issue with exclamation marks happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, one of its parent folders, or the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter, or you've moved a non-portable library to a different path (see Make a split library portable for details). It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place, or that you've been too aggressive when deleting duplicates. See Getting iTunes & Windows Media Player to play nicely if you're trying to access your media with any other media players.

Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to Get Info, then click No when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the file tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, a folder renamed, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions. If the difference between the two paths is an additional Music folder in one path then this is a layout issue. I can explain further if that is the case. If everything is where it is supposed to be try Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows.

This library was manually manipulated when I transferred the music from a desktop to a laptop a few years ago This is where I spent a Sunday trying to repair what I had done. I kept consolidating and organizing before I had everything where I wanted it. iTunes was trying to help, but I did the same thing my son did and tried to wing it.

I'm a long term Apple and iTunes user with a reasonably large library of what the music app is reporting as 67K songs (I seemed to remember it was a lot bigger so am unsure if I'm missing anything). My music is "theoretically" stored on an external hard drive (more of that in a sec). Most of my library was ripped from CD but I I also started using the Apple Music subscription service approx two years ago.

Before I get to the issues, my understanding is that I should expect to have one folder called "Music" for all my ripped music prior to using the Apple Music subscription service. And an additional folder called "Apple Music" which is all the downloaded music from the Apple Music service.

1. I have two "Apple Music" folders. The first is where I would expect it, on my external hard drive under the path iTunes/iTunes Media/Apple Music. The second though is on my internal hard drive under my user account in the path ...Music/Music/Apple Music. So, the question is, why do I have two folders? And how do I combine them again? For info I have the following checked "Keep Music Media folder organised" and "Copy files to Music Media folder when adding to library".

2. The Apple Music folder (on my external drive)appears to contain a lot of artists and songs I do not recognise and don't even appear to be in my main genres. Despite the folder containing these folders/files the majority do not appear to exist within my library. i.e. if I search the artist named in the folder they do not exist in my library. I can only find them if I search within Apple Music. When I do locate them artist/song there is no indication it has been downloaded despite a file existing on my drive.

If you have a folder on your external drive, then you set the iTunes preferences to use a media folder there. If you have one on your Mac, then the Music app preferences were not set to use the external drive.

However, these all appear to be included in my music app library BUT all show as "uploaded" with no file linked to them. So can be streamed but the actual files appear to be orphaned from the library.

They are all in my designated external folder in the path iTunes/iTunes Media/Music and are all albums that I ripped, and were there prior to subscribing to Apple Music or the introduction of the new Music app.

The problem with using an external drive for media is that if the drive is not available, iTunes/Music reverts back to the default location in your home folder. It's a good idea to check every now and then.

Also, and maybe I need another thread for this, I have deleted my other folders but artists and tracks that were in those (deleted) folders are still showing in roon (they show in Roon but cannot be played)

I made a script which checks a special dir for music and records the song names in a text file. But my problem is that I have to give the dir manually. Is there a way in C# to find the Music folder on windows automatically?

I have previously assigned my system "Movies" and "Music" folders in Windows 10 to corresponding folders in my NAS (network storage). Now I have changed my router and the new router has different network configuration. The old one was giving IP's in the 192.168.1.xx range, and the new one works with 192.168.50.xx range (and it doesn't seem to be possible to change, I tried).

So now I am trying to reassign the "Movies" and "Music" folders to a new network address, but Windows tell me it can't be done, because the old network address in not accessible. Trying to restore the defaults gives the same result. What should I do?

The only thing that comes to my mind is to connect the old router back, then restore the defaults, then connect the new router and relocate again. But I am afraid Windows will then try to move all my movies and music to drive C, there's not enough space for that.

My question is the following, even having all my songs analyzed and imported to the collection, I can't find songs in other folders through the search field until I browse the folder where it is, so traktor seems to analyze all the songs in folder and adds them to the database for searching.

This is very important, because after that, Traktor knows where to look for music (it is best if you have one major folder, for example D:\Music -or whatever you like).

Thanks for the help, but that's not the point. My question is about traktor not finding my songs by searching different sub folders until I browse them. Example: My music collection has 10 folders, I am currently in folder "A", and if I type the name of a song in the search that is in folder "F" traktor doesn't find it until I browse the folder through the left menu , because it does that quick scan through each folder and it seems like it adds the songs to the search database. I don't know if I was clear now

Addendum: I plan on modifying the second cabinet this summer to have 1.5" slots instead of 1.25". I'm getting some new folders for my oldest group and they are rather snug in the smaller slot. If I were doing everything over, I would still keep 1.25" slots on the first cabinet, because younger students don't need more space (except for the ones who save every book they have ever played and bring them to school for no reason, or the students who try to use their folder slot for their science book and math tests). Update: I finished my modifications and now have a cabinet with 21 1.5" slots instead of 25 1 1/4" slots.

I recently purchased a micro SD card for my LG G3 with the intention of moving and storing all of my music files on the SD card so that I would have more room on my phone for applications/photos/etc. I moved my music files from the internal memory to the SD card, however, when I tested to see if I could play a music file from the SD card without the file being on the phone's internal memory, the file did not show up on the SD card. I then researched and was told that I needed to have the music folder on my SD card linked to a music player, so I installed the recommended "Poweramp" music player and attempted to link my music folder from the SD card to the Poweramp app. I then tested again by deleting a music file from the internal memory of my phone and attempted to play it in Poweramp, but the music file disappeared again.

Can someone tell me how to CORRECTLY link my SD card music folder with the Poweramp app so that I can play music from the SD card without having the music on the phone's internal memory, which is the primary reason that I purchased the SD card. Thanks! e24fc04721
