Apply as a MENTOR
Registration for 2026-2027 Open! (Current students do not need to reapply)
Apply as a MENTOR
Who can apply: If you are in high school or college and you play a wind, brass, string instrument or sing, we encourage you to apply to mentor a student. You will earn community service hours (sample log at the bottom of page), leadership experience, and become a peer mentor!
How the process works: Once you submit your application, we will send you an email within 2 weeks with more information. You will be matched with a student we think is a good fit, and you will reach out to determine meeting platform (Zoom, FaceTime, etc.), scheduling, and lesson preferences. Typically, lessons take place virtually, for 30 min - 1 hr per week, during the academic school year. Logistics can be altered depending on mentor and student availability and preference.
What you will be teaching: You will help your student improve their skills on their instrument/voice according to their level. You and the student can decide when and what they would like to work on in the first lesson.
Teaching materials: We offer guiding materials and resources to aid in directing mentors in lesson planning and content. These materials will be sent to you via email once you have been assigned a student.
Please note that we might not have students that play your instrument at the moment, and you may be placed on a wait list. We appreciate your patience!
