Human Dimensions of Music

Hi! My name is Anthony Sica and I love music.

I try to listen to it whenever I can as much as possible. Whether I'm driving in the car or folding laundry I usually have one of my Spotify playlists playing in the background. I come from a family that is constantly playing music in my house, so that's probably the reason I bring a speaker with me everywhere I go. I honestly enjoy most types of music but the ones I am always listening to are hip hop, classic rock, alternative, and I even throw on the radio for some pop. I've played a few instruments when I was younger. I played the drums for a few years but that was probably so I had the excuse to bang on something and not get yelled at. In middle school I played the saxophone for band, although I was not the greatest and always had difficulty reading the notes, I still enjoyed playing and I am happy to say that I at least tried it in my lifetime. Although I don't currently play any instruments, I always find myself humming or “making beats” on the table. I am always open to hear people's suggestions on new types of music or songs to listen to, and if somebody wants to play aux in the car I usually let them since i'm not too picky. If I could master any instrument overnight it would definitely be the piano. I find it fascinating watching people just flow on the keys and understanding every single note so they can play freely, without any music sheets. I am super excited to learn all about the dimensions of music in this class and to grow my knowledge on music as a whole.
