Mushka is a Russian nickname for someone that is cute like a little fly with big eyes.

Mushka is run by a solo artist: salt of the earth Nadia Smith. Nadia boasts a degree in theater art (Entertainment Technology from Tshwane University of Technology), where she learned the necessary design and reproduction skills that coincide well with tattoo art. "When I get a tattoo design, no matter how big or small, I always go through the same process as I would when designing for a stage production: there is a meaning, personality and placement on the body just like there is a story line, character and location in a theater production. The only difference is that this story never ends."

After working in the film and theater industry for a while, Nadia traveled abroad to teach English in South Korea, but the artist in her never subsided. While backpacking in Cambodia she was offered a tattoo apprenticeship. She declined, but the seed was planted and rapidly started growing in her mind leaving her with restless excitement. It was not long before she embarked on her tattoo journey in South Korea and later developed her skills significantly in Centurion.

She continues to learn: "I see every project as my next best project, and to learn from my previous mistakes." She endeavours to always push her skill to new levels as she masters the thrilling medium of skin. She prides herself on her out-of-the-box ideas and easy-going attitude. Nadia not only loves expressing her flair for art through tattooing, but she also enjoys working with and getting to know her clients.
