Today, we see a multitude of evidences of the fruits of the history of human rights, and its continual progress through societal development, cultural change, and political awareness.
Featured here are a series of recent yet timely campaigns that reflect our continuous fight for human rights and the need for further advancement of this movement.
STOP ILLEGAL ARRESTS!
Illegal arrests includes arresting citizens without probable cause and actual warrant of arrest. Not only does this happen in the Philippines, but also in different parts of the globe. In relation to Human Rights, it violates our rights as humans in line with the Philippine Constitution. As what Nicolas & De Vega Law Offices' stated, officials cannot arrest a person without a warrant or without catching the accused case that the person violated (Philippine Legal Advice, n.d.).
DEFEND PRESS FREEDOM!
Red tagging and the killings of journalists are direct violations to the rights of journalists as it is accomplished in order to silence them or to control the media and the information it produces or disseminates. Since 1986, 190 journalists have been killed off and 21 of those journalists were murdered under the Duterte Administration (Arao, 2021). Several journalists are also being falsely labeled as associates to the terrorist organizations of the Philippines. In a time where such is prevalent and is increasingly becoming a trend, we must be reminded that our right to freely speak without our safety being threatened is an inviolable right.
PROTECT INDIGENOUS RIGHTS!
Indigenous Rights are also human rights, it should be protected and upheld equally to all human rights. It should always be recognized to ensure the safety and security of all indigenous people. Indigenous people in the Philippines are at risk for discrimination, exploitation, abuse, murder, and many more due to the negligence of their rights. Through this, the dignity of our indigenous people is continuously being threatened by the people.

Rights for education. Alongside all the rights that we have battling ever since, Lasallians and other students from prestiged Universities have gathered to speak out against the raise in their tuition fee. It is true that not all people have the capacity to afford what they currently have but raising their tuition fee is still a major factor in their education since it will dictate the number of years you study in a university. In doing so, students will be able to attest the raise in their tuition fee and the spender would not have to worry so much for having an increase in what they pay for.
