At MUSA Nail & Beauty Academy, our primary objective is to equip students with a comprehensive education program that aligns with current industry trends, utilizing high-quality professional tools and product. Our Nail Technician Program is meticulously designed to cultivate essential skills and knowledge.
The nail technician program also emphasizes on developing the professional attitude necessary for successfully passing the Illinois State Board Examination and achieving the student’s competency for entry-level positions as a Manicurist, Nail Technician, or in related fields.
Our nail technology curriculum program consists of a minimum of 350 clock hours. A combination of classroom instruction and hands-on (practical and technical) experience. This program is classified as hybrid, combining online and in-person education.
The subjects and number of hours shall be as follows for each category of training:
1) Basic Training – 50 hours:

Understanding state laws, regulations, and professional ethics.
Health and public safety practices, including sterilization, sanitation, bacteriology, and safety protocols.
Fundamentals of anatomy and physiology.
Identification of nail diseases and disorders.
In-depth nail theory, structure, and composition.
Practical nail services, including manicuring, pedicuring, electric filing, application of nail tips and forms, as well as the use of nail resin systems and acrylic and gel enhancements.
