For one day, take note of every time you hear music (in the car, at home, within social media videos, in a movie/TV show, in rehearsal). How often do you go without hearing music? How often are you “hearing” music as compared to “listening” to music?
Think of the last concert you attended (classical, non-classical…). Who had access to it? What were the barriers to that access (price, location, previous knowledge, membership in an institution)?
The Beatles (1967)
Clara Wieck Schumann (1846)
Comtessa de Dia (late 12th century)
Tanburi Cemil Bey (performance from 2007)
