I started my career in the field of dentistry in 1997, when I got selected for BDS in Karachi Medical and Dental College. Four years of college life was a memorable experience for me, where I learned basic knowledge and skill set of dentistry. I graduated in 2001, and cleared all examinations in first attempt. I have completed my house job from Karachi Medical and Dental College and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in 2002-03. 

Since my undergraduate studies I had special interest in Prosthodontics. Soon after my internship got FCPS-I examination cleared and joined de’Montmorency College of Dentistry, Lahore, in November 2003 as FCPS-II resident. de’Montmorency is the oldest dental college of Pakistan, where I fortunate to learn from eminent professionals and equipped with the basic skills of specialty. In my residency was very blessed to learn the soft skills and clinical dexterities which was unmatched in other training centers. I along with my colleague innovated two clinical technique for the management of patients with acquired maxillary defects, which includes (i) innovative two-part impression, and (ii) two-piece obturator for large maxillary defect where are also published. We have also developed single piece, single curing hollow bulb obturator. 

I started my teaching carrier from my Alma mater as demonstrator in Prosthodontics after completing my residency and later promoted to Assistant Professor. Before joining AKUH I was teaching in Farima Jinnah Dental College (FJDC) as Professor, which is validated by PMDC (Now PMC). During my time at  KMDC and de’Montmorency college of dentistry got experience to deliver multiple treatment modalities to the patients. With the passage of time I have developed special interest in dental implantology and management of acquired maxillary defects. 

I joined Aga Khan University (AKUH) in May 2018 as Assistant Professor. In an year time given the responsibility to lead the dental section, which, I am doing successfully. Current responsibilities have also polished my soft  skills. I proactively undertaken few quality projects including (i) Updating dental history form, (ii) Restructured dental delineation form and procedure list. I was a member of Quality Committee of the service line-13 from 2020-2022 July. Conducted "dental practice comparison" between tertiary and secondary centers as a quality project approved by CMO.

I strongly believe that science nourishes with research. I am continuously publishing scientific literature and clinical tips and case reports to disseminate my experience which may be beneficial for the other professionals and thus the patients. I have published over fortly articles in national and international peer review journals. I am grateful to Almighty Allah, on getting three Patents granted.  I am regular reviewer of national and international journal including BMC Oral Health and British Dental Journal. I have been invited as speaker in various national forums as well. I have also attended multiple workshops to polish my clinical skills arranged in the country and abroad. 

I have successfully supervised four Fellows and five MDS in prosthodontics and am currently supervising five FCPS residents in AKU. I am thesis committee member of two scholars of Master in epidemiology and biostatistics. I am honored to have launched a CPSP accredited residency program in Prosthodontics in Dental Section-AKU while working closely with the OroMaxilloFacial Surgery and the Periodontology faculty of AKU in order to initiate residency in their specialty as well. In my tenure as a Section Head, all the faculty got promoted one rank, worth noting two of them were reached to Professor status, which is indeed a big achievement on their and section’s part. 

I actively participate in the CPSP examination of (IMM, FCPS-II) Prosthodontics every year. Multiple times I have been nominated as a convener of Prosthodontics for undergraduate examination in Karachi University. I have also been nominated as an inspector for accreditation of dental colleges by Karachi University and PMDC. 

I have officially represented Pakistan as Delegate on International Dental Conference & Arab Dental Exhibition (AEEDC) held in Dubai from 4-6th February 2024, and 45th Asia Pacific Dental Congress (APDC) scheduled in Taiwan from 2-5th May, 2024. I attended and presented in FDI World Dental Conference held in Istanbul from 12-15 September, 2024.
