Digital Marketing Portfolio
This is a collection of professional and personal projects I have completed. Each project has varying degrees of adjustment layers, color management, brand integration, and cohesive design decisions.
The main assets used were three different scenery photos taken in high resolution, reduced down to 2560 x 1440 px resolution. I started with blending the three main photos with individualized adjustment layers to color grade all three photos to matching highlights and shadows. I picked some fun elements to add depth to the sky, the horizon, and textures. I added the snow-capped mountain on the horizon and used fog to cover the original mountains on the right-most photo. Following the same procedure to color-grade, I used masking techniques to set it in place. The fog acts as a bridge to other areas of the photo, while also replacing the sky background in all 3 images. I then added the boats, and then added a texture over the full image with a layer style at a very low opacity to produce interesting texture across the photo. After finishing the photography portion, I was inspired to create a social media post using this.

The overall theme for the color grading turned out to look like every season was suppressed in its natural lighting and unique colors. This created a desaturated, cold color palette and it looked like all three photos with different seasons were depressed. This inspired the name "Seasonal Depression," a type of depression triggered by the change of seasons, most often found during colder months like fall and winter.

This project includes some processes of photo editing to change the natural colors of each planet, add highlights and shadows to match, and paint remaining elements to add a realistic space scene. To add visual interest, I wanted to space planets unnaturally close together, and even with Jupiter touching the red planet in a magnetic sense. All of this while floating around an active asteroid belt to give it some organized chaos. Finishing touches involved adding reflective highlights and shadows based on space between objects. I used several solid color layers and masked out portions to give the background a variety of blue, purple, and pink hues. I used 2 dust particle texture layers to act as the stars, masking them in certain areas to give them depth. I also included them in blur effects to give the illusion of distance. The challenge with this piece was the amount of highlights and shadows that were required on the asteroids to match the surrounding elements.
