We study the mechanisms that allow tumors to evade immune attack, with the goal of revealing new opportunities for cancer therapy.
The Murayama Lab at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University investigates how cancer cells avoid immune detection and resist treatment. We connect fundamental questions in cancer biology with the search for ways to restore antitumor immunity.
What keeps cancer cells' immune alarm systems silent? How do changes in RNA and DNA regulation influence cancer survival? Our research explores these questions to understand immune evasion and identify vulnerabilities in difficult-to-treat cancers.
