Who is Murad Campbell?
On paper, my resume is pretty impressive. In high school, I was an All-American in Track & Field. I earned bachelor's & master's degrees in Social Work. I'm a licensed master social worker (LMSW) and a certified life coach (CLC). I'm a husband and a father.
However, there are things that made me who I am today and propel me to continue to grow and learn.
- My running career and Olympic dreams were dashed in college after an injury.
- I've experienced hopelessness and despair.
- I was labeled a "slow learner," and struggled in school and with test anxiety.
In spite of these experiences today I live a fulfilling life.
- I coach my son's basketball team, and get to watch as he and his teammates develop lifelong social and emotional skills.
- I didn't start playing basketball until the age of 38.
- I'm married to the love of my life with whom I have two great children.
- I help those who experience the same hopelessness I experienced.
- I've achieved more than I expected academically, and I'm overcoming my test anxiety (we're all works in progress, right?)
