Rya (Euryale)

☆   Backstory — 

Based loosely on the Greek mythology. Euryale was the second eldest of the Gorgons, the three sisters that have the hair of living, venomous snakes. However, overtime Euryale traded snakes for tentacles, following in her parents’ (Phorcys and Ceto) footsteps and returning to the sea. For centuries, she wandered the ocean and became known in many stories for her bellowing cries and mischievous behaviour. She toyed with sailors and sea creatures alike, though kept her head down when greater gods were involved. Her time in the ocean transformed her body, and she gladly took pride in her new appearance. As time passed, the world changed. Gods were forgotten except by a select few and thus, so was she. However, being a near immortal being meant that Euryale saw it all. And soon, she was entranced by the changing world. Of humans and their creations, their thoughts and very existence. Her time was split between staying hidden in the ocean and exploring the new world. Influenced by the new world, she chose the nickname ‘Rya’ and started moving from bodies of water as she saw fit. She lives as a nomad, and rarely talks to other gods, finding them boring and stuck in their old ways. Humans are her new Interest, though it’s taken her years to learn how to interact with some and not kill them by accident. However, she still kills some just for the fun of it, finding them weak and amusing in moments of strife.

☆   Appearance —

Tall and with larger hips and longer than average limbs. Hands end in pointed claws with darker ends. Feet are very small and pointed, also darker. Long, thick tail that ends in anemone. Stiff, orange coral-like spine. Ten hair-like tentacles on head, and two antenne-like appendages. Markings all glow in the dark and under certain light. Dark sclera, and purple eyes with yellow border.

Mischievous with a wanderlust, but a force to be reckoned with if you make her mad. She is a demi-god after all. And she can get mean. Otherwise, she’s curious, and loves learning about the world in all its stages. She doesn’t agree with most god worship, but is still a little stand-offish and selfish. Humans amuse her greatly.
