My specific research interests lie within the realms of converting multisensory signals of vision, audition and touch into motor movements of the eyes, hand & body and how these mechanisms are modulated by various mechanisms of short and long term cognitive control, attention and suppression. To do this we use systems neuroscience approaches with the technologies of functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), magnetoencephalography (MEG), eyetracking and electrophysiology (EEG) during my first 20 years.

Now and hopefully the next 20-years, our lab is interested how and where in the brain community dance with live music is helping people with Parkinson's disease and understanding the neural circuits for reward and mental health (depression and anxiety) by correlating neuroimaging with questionnaires from our beautiful participants as they slow their disease progression down.  

In 2025, we show that cognition is improved over 6-years of dancing compared to sedentary controls.
