소개

문래 청소년 체스 클럽은 외국인과 한국인 체스 애호가들이 함께 운영하는 지역 청소년 체스 클럽입니다. 현재 매주 토요일 오전 11시, 지역 카페 너와마실에서 5라운드 스위스식 주간 토너먼트를 진행하고 있습니다.
정규 대회 참가비는 회당 10,000원이며, 대회는 총 16명 정원으로 운영됩니다.

현재 대회는 A그룹(Premier) 과 B그룹(Challenger) 으로 나누어 진행됩니다. 매주 토너먼트 종료 후, A그룹 하위 2명은 B그룹으로 내려가고, B그룹 상위 2명은 A그룹으로 승격됩니다. 현재 조 편성과 순위는 여기에서 확인해 주세요.

아이들의 꾸준한 참여와 성취를 격려하기 위해 다음과 같은 혜택을 운영합니다.

• 각 그룹 1위: 소정의 상품 제공

• 3회 대회 참가: 다음 주 대회 무료 참가

참가비는 클럽 운영과 발전을 위해 사용됩니다. 예를 들어 체스판과 시계 등 장비 유지 및 보수, 소정의 상품과 시상, 내부 랭킹 시스템 운영, 그리고 다문화가정 매치, 외부 교류전, 상급자 또는 프로 선수 초청 행사 등에 활용될 예정입니다.

현재 사용 중인 카페 공간은 클럽 비용을 낮게 유지할 수 있는 큰 장점이 있습니다. 다만 장소 이용 조건에 따라 부모님과 아이 각각 음료 1잔씩 구매해 주셔야 합니다. 아이들이 마실 수 있는 음료도 준비되어 있습니다.

대부분의 참가 학생들이 이미 기본적인 체스 실력을 갖추고 있으므로, 처음 배우는 친구들은 토너먼트에 참여하기 전에 말의 움직임, 기본 전술, 체크메이트 방법과 같은 기초를 익혀 오시기를 권장합니다. 자세한 내용은 클럽 자료, 클럽 규칙 페이지를 참고해 주세요.

본 클럽은 서울 소재 국제학교에서 AP 경제 및 역사 과목을 가르치는 교사가 운영하고 있으며, 아이들에게 긍정적이고 체계적인 학습 환경을 제공하는 데 중점을 두고 있습니다.

Introduction

Mullae Youth Chess Club is a neighborhood youth chess club organized by both Korean and international chess lovers. We currently meet every Saturday at 11:00 AM at a local café called Neowamasil (너와마실), where we run a weekly five-round Swiss tournament.
The participation fee for the regular tournament is 10,000 won per session, and the event is limited to 16 players.

Players are divided into two groups: Group A (Premier) and Group B (Challenger). At the end of each weekly tournament, the bottom two players in Group A move down to Group B, while the top two players in Group B are promoted to Group A. Please see the current grouping and ranking HERE.

To encourage both consistency and achievement, we offer the following incentives:

• First place in each group: small prize

• Three tournament attendances: free entry for the following week

Collected fees are used to support and improve the club, including equipment maintenance (boards, clocks, etc.), small prizes and awards, the development of our internal ranking ladder, and outreach activities such as matches with multicultural families, community events, and invitations to stronger or professional players.

One of the advantages of our current venue is that it helps us keep club costs low. However, as part of the café’s policy, each parent and child is required to purchase one drink while using the space. Drinks suitable for children are also available.

Since most participants already know some basic chess skills, we ask beginners to learn a few fundamentals before joining the tournament, such as how the pieces move, basic tactics, and how checkmate works. Please read the Club Resource and Club Rule page for more details.

The club is organized by a teacher at an international school in Seoul, with a background in AP Economics and History, and a strong interest in creating a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment for children.
