Muir PTO runs on volunteers! From events to student snacks to staff appreciation to coordinating volunteers, Muir PTO depends on volunteers to do all the things we that we do to support the school. If you are interested in any of the open positions below, please email johnmuirpto@gmail.com
Events (5 hours/event) - Co-plan & host a school-wide event such as Trunk or Treat, Multicultural Night, Muireka, Literacy Night, Fun Run & more! More info to come before each event.
Snacks (1 hour/month) - shop for snacks for students & deliver snacks to Muir, using PTO $
Sign (15 mins/week) - Place the letters on the Muir sign out front to highlight events.
(Position filled) Newsletter (1 hour/week) - 2 volunteers wanted! Send out the weekly PTO newsletter to families highlighting events and news. We use MailChimp which is super easy to learn!
(Position filled) Facebook (1 hour/month) - Update PTO Facebook, highlighting upcoming events.
Yearbook (2 hours/month) - As a committee, design/layout Muir's yearbook & take photos.
(Position filled) Website (1 hour/month) - Update existing PTO website, as needed
Staff Appreciation (2 hours/month) - As a committee, celebrate Muir's wonderful staff through monthly appreciation events (mostly food!)
(Position filled) Volunteer coordination (1 hour/week) - Help recruit & place volunteers in Muir's classrooms
Garden/Outdoor Education Program (seasonal and VERY flexible) - Let Becky, our gardener-in-residence, know your availability, how often you’d like to participate, and if you’d like to work with classrooms, help maintain the garden as a group or on your own, or assist with keeping our program financially viable.
