Privacy Policy

Muhammad Abdullah ("we," "us," or "our") operates Versus AI and other AI-powered applications. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
Prompts and text you type into the app
Images you upload for comparison (if applicable)
Information we do not collect:
Your name, email address, or any account information
Location data
Contacts or any other data from your device
Advertising identifiers
1.1 AI assistant (optional). If you use the in-app AI assistant, the text of your message and a short summary of your active protocol (compound names, day of protocol, adherence percentage, and side-effect tags you have logged) are sent to a third-party AI provider, Anthropic (Claude), via our server, solely to generate a response. This happens only after you explicitly opt in, and you can disable it at any time in Settings. No account, name, email, or contact information is sent. This data is not used to build a profile of you. Anthropic processes the data under its own privacy terms, which provide comparable protection. Do not include personal identifying information in messages.
2. Screen Recordings and Captured Media
When you use DemoKit to record your Mac's screen, the resulting video file is stored exclusively on your own device. We do not access, transmit, view, or store these recordings on any server we control or any third-party service. Recordings, including any captured audio, microphone input, or camera footage you include in them, are your property and remain entirely under your control on your local Mac.
DemoKit does not upload your recordings, does not analyze their content, does not share them with advertising or analytics partners, and does not use them to train any machine learning models. The recordings exist only as files on your device, the same way a video you create with QuickTime or iMovie does.
When you export a recording, DemoKit shows a standard macOS save dialog so you can choose any folder on your Mac. The exported video file is written to the folder you select, and remains entirely on your local Mac under your control.
If you choose to share an exported video with someone else (by emailing it, uploading it to a cloud service, sending it via messaging, or any other means), that sharing is your action and is not facilitated by DemoKit. Any third party you choose to send the file to will receive it under their own terms and privacy policies, not ours.
Recordings remain accessible inside DemoKit until you delete them. Exported video files remain in the folder you chose when exporting and can be managed using Finder like any other file. Uninstalling DemoKit does not delete your exported video files; they remain wherever you saved them.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to (For AI Apps) :
Process your prompts by forwarding them to third-party AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI, Google) and returning their responses to you
Detect and prevent abuse of our backend services via Firebase App Check
Diagnose crashes and improve app stability
We use the data captured by the app (your screen recording) to:
Render the recording into a video file on your Mac
Show you the recording in DemoKit's in-app editor
Allow you to add annotations, zoom effects, and trim points
Produce the final exported MP4, GIF, or MOV file you save
We do not use the recording data for any other purpose. The data never leaves your Mac.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
4. Third-Party AI Providers
When you submit a prompt, it is sent to one or more of the following providers:

Each provider processes your prompt according to their own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing their policies if you have concerns about how your data is handled on their end. We do not control what these providers do with data once it reaches them.
Do not submit sensitive personal information, confidential business data, or private details in your prompts.
5. Data Storage and Retention
Conversation history is stored locally on your device only, using your device's private storage. We have no access to it.
Prompts in transit pass through our Firebase Functions proxy but are not logged or stored on our servers beyond the time needed to complete the request (typically under 60 seconds).
We do not maintain any server-side database of your conversations or usage history.
6. Children's Privacy
Our apps are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. International Users
Our backend services are hosted on Google Firebase (US-based infrastructure). If you are located outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using our apps, you consent to this transfer.
8. Security
We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including Firebase App Check to verify that requests originate from our legitimate app. However, no transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Because we do not collect or store user data on our systems, there is no data on our end to retain or delete. Your recordings stay on your Mac for as long as you keep them. You can delete recordings inside DemoKit at any time using the trash button on each recording. Exported video files remain in whichever folder you saved them to and can be deleted using Finder like any other file. Uninstalling DemoKit does not remove any exported video files you've already saved.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of our apps after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
