Course Availability and Articulation
When will course materials be available?
You can now request access to Math 108 materials. Complete the course access form.
Can Math 108 be offered as a dual-credit high school course?
In the 2025-2026 school year, we will run the first sponsored Math 108 dual credit pilot (partnership between Clackamas CC and two school districts: North Clackamas and West Linn-Wilsonville). Other high schools in the Clackamas CC region can apply for sponsored dual credit after this pilot year.
We hope as Math 108 use spreads at Oregon community colleges and universities, sponsored dual credit availability will increase.
If sponsored dual credit is not yet available in your region, teachers with a relevant masters in math/data science, etc., can apply to offer dual credit through PSU.
Please check back for dual credit availability updates.
Will this course articulate between Oregon community colleges and universities?
This course is approved for use (starting 2025-2026 school year) at:
Clackamas Community College ("Math 108")
Portland State University ("Stat 108", with plans to transition to "Math 108")
We hope this course will be added to more college and university catalogs in coming years, and will update this list accordingly.
Course Elements
Why did you select this prefix and course number?
Our course design team researched available math course numbers and found that 108 is not currently in use.
We chose the MTH prefix to indicate the utility of this course as 100-level math credit.
Design decisions were made with statewide use in mind. For elements like course name and learning outcomes, the design team reviewed input session responses, researched current course offerings in Oregon, and considered what would work best across institutions. Learn more in this report.
What technology does this course require?
To remove access barriers, Math 108 has limited technology requirements.
Technology overview:
Free, browser-based software (PositCloud, Google Sheets, CODAP)
Runs on Chromebooks
Use of software/student accounts widely approved by technology departments

Our course focuses on data visualizations (R data visualizations are more robust)
PositCloud (the cloud-based R platform) is approved for use in K-12 school districts
Commonly used in Statistics and Business
R has an easier learning curve (compared to Python)
