I have put together various ways of filling the analysis gap I felt there was. These experimental, sometimes unfinished attempts still helped me get my head around the sets - and clear up what needs generally to be checked before getting into a set from the Limited standpoint.
I'm as well using this list to track my progress in competitive play... while we're at it, why not ;)
I didn't even look at neither Foundations nor Innistrad Remastered - for a break, and then to focus on Modern for Prague RC. I restarted late on Aetherdrift, reaching but plateauing at Platinum 3 on MTGA. I really got back to it on TDM, reaching Diamond on the first month, and Mythic on the second!
In parallel, I made it to the top 8 draft finals at a Sealed RCQ - quite happy with that consistency over the last 3 attempts! The turtle was of help both during the Sealed and the Draft, so here's a picture of it as a token of appreciation for the support.
And that's it... While I've produced no notes for DSK either, I spent some time (as usual) following the spoilers on Scryfall.com, practicing drafting virtually on Draftsim.com as well as actually on MTGA, and reading some of LSV's set review on ChannelFireball.com (thanks for removing the paywall!)...
I won a RCQ! On to the next Regional Championship!!!
(I selected the art of Valgaroth's Onslaught, splashed on a streamlined WR build, and which won me a few games on the spot, I must admit)
Post-RC edit: it was cool to be in Prague and enjoy the show, but bridging the gap between Limited and Modern wasn't that easy... I only recorded 1 win on day 1. Storm wasn't maybe a great choice with all the Frogs trying to go after Breach. Ingesting 15 years of meta in a few months was beyond my abilities. Good experience nonetheless!
This time, not even notes! The set was released during the summer holidays, I barely prepared...
But completed day 1 of the MTGA Open on the first attempt, and the following day went all the way up to the top 8 draft semi-finals at a RCQ!
Is there a clue here... the less prep, the better the results?...
No slides for this one, merely some notes... not worth even sharing.
But still, I managed to get to Mythic... after 2 months on the set.
In paper, I almost managed to get to a RCQ - although I had my entry ticket, I couldn't go on the day... sadly.

Not a great performance for me on this set, I'll have to admit...
It had been a long time since I formally reviewed a set... lack of time is to blame. MOM, LTR, WOE came and went - without anything to write home about, apart from very average results at a Sealed PTQ. But in December 2023 I managed to reach Mythic again with LCI.
The common shells for BRO are on this other page of the site.
I managed to get through to Day 2 on the Arena Open of 26/11/2022 as I drilled into BRO Sealed quite a bit -Â but got wrecked at the subsequent draft as I hadn't had any time to practice that format...
No time either to work on the common shells on ONE, but with training in Sealed, listening to pros' advice (Drafting Archetypes, Mystical Dispute and Lords of Limited) and of course drafting as mindfully as possible (I created a Google form to systematically record both my deck builds and my technical play punts), I ended up reaching Mythic solely by using Premier Draft!

I felt comfortable enough with the aggro strategy there to make it to Mythic in December 2022 when Quick Draft came back!
Nothing on NEO: I totally missed that set, life brought me somewhere nicer...!
The common shells for VOW are on this other page of the site.
Although I didn't push on the detail study of the set, I practiced quite a bit, which allowed me to go through Day 1 of the Arena Open of 04/12/2021.
Again MID is missing from the list: I had no time to give to the set...
The common shells for AFR are on this other page of the site.
For the French speakers, here's the first AFR draft I've done with Guillaume, a blogger friend, for his YouTube channel Heartyshow (in French). My initial reading of the set wasn't exactly right, however the only fact of thinking about it helps: I reached Mythic level again in July 2021 (I had reached Mythic twice before with STX in May and June).
Once again I thought about this set enough to get to Mythic in July 2021!
You'll note that STX is missing from the list - I never got to study it in detail, unfortunately - I was still drilling on KHM.
27,000+ pairs of cards have been evaluated for synergistic potential, and the most interesting ones are provided here in the beta version of the synergy evaluator. The pairings involving commons and uncommons only is complete - from the analysis of ZNR, this is probably the most objectively usable takeaways.
The list including rares and mythics, however, is incomplete. Some additional findings regarding the colour comparisons and most synergistic cards are provided as well - more on an experimental basis.
Nevertheless, I felt comfortable enough with KHM to get through Day 1 of the Arena Open on 20/02/2021!
An extensive review over 40,000+ pairs of cards from the set was conducted, leading to a list of the best synergies at common / uncommon, best colours, most synergistic cards, and as well an experimental determination of optimal limited decks.
There are certainly some elements to take away, but the analysis and results are not as conclusive as they would need to be. Still some more work is to be done.
Review of the micro-synergies of the set with the same method as the one used initially for Ikoria was conducted. Less detailed though - experimentations on the Micro-Synergy evaluator had already begun, as a preparation for the analysis of Zendikar.
Using the framework, I was invited by Guillaume, a blogger friend, on his YouTube channel Heartyshow, to review the Mono White and the UB Mill archetypes - for the French speakers.
This set saw the first complete - and most in-depth - analysis of the micro-synergy clusters and archetypes. The idea was to evaluate the rating of each card within each of the micro-synergy clusters, and then calculate an aggregated score for them to rank them, assess how much each card overlapped across clusters to guess how sought after they would be, evaluate how difficult it would be to pull the macro-synergies together, etc. It is now a reference point that can be used to refresh our memory about the set.
Using the framework, I was invited by Guillaume to review WR Aggro, G Humans/Non-Humans, BR Menace and WG Vigilance. I had as well the opportunity to explain the framework itself. In French!
IKO is dear to me as a Quick Draft got me to my first Mythic ranking in May 2021!
At the time Theros came out, only a very basic review was conducted about what themes the commons of each colour gave, and how this translated for each colour combination.
The first constitutive blocks of the spreadsheet for the analysis micro-synergy cluster were laid.
TBD got me to my second Mythic ranking in June 2021 (that was a Quick Draft).
A mind-map-like grouping of the cards of the set was developed during the spoilers, giving an idea of the big themes of the set. A very basic analysis of each archetype - both for colour pairs and for monocolour archetypes - was conducted.
A set I liked quite a bit and drafted in paper - good LGS-based memories before it closed...
The mind-map-like grouping of the cards of the set was developed for the first time, after the spoilers, in an attempt to dig deeper into the possible clusters and archetypes, while the set was already mature. It laid the base for the same review with Eldraine.
