Your building Vice President brings any issue that cannot be resolved at the building level to our monthly Superintendent Round Table meetings. These meetings include MTEA President, all MTEA Vice Presidents, Superintendent, Asst. Superintendent, and Human Resources Director. As Vice President, Genifer Leimbacher meets monthly with the Principal and Vice Principal. Gena gathers info from building reps, grievance reps, and evaluation reps to determine if there is a pattern of issues that need to be addressed at higher levels.

We are happy to have her as our new Head Building Rep! As HBR, she handles all building correspondence and supports the building reps. She also assists with PRIDE events and MTEA elections.

Most evaluation questions can be answered by looking on the “Teacher Resource” page in the staff portal on the district website.
MTEA members assisted the administration in developing the FAQ on this page, which is a very valuable resource.

GRIEVANCE - Your grievance rep, Kim, is here for you when you have questions about something you are asked to do that may go beyond what is in our contract.
Some examples are:
• You are asked to attend an event outside of school hours without pay
• You are asked to attend a meeting during your lunch period
• You lose your prep due to a change in schedule
If an administrator asks you to do something, you should do it so that you are not being insubordinate. However, you do need to contact Kim to make sure this isn't something that violates contract language.
