Outside of being a middle school teacher, there are many things that make me who I am. When I'm not in the classroom, I love spending time with my partner, pictured on the left, and our sweet rescue cat, Dovah. I often spend my free time reading books, alternating between fantasy and contemporary fiction. And I love cooking and experimenting with new recipes and ingredients. Being the only person from my family to reside in Michigan, I make frequent trips to visit family in other states, as spending quality time with the people who matter most is extremely important to me. Together, these are a few of the meaningful aspects of my life that help make me who I am.
Taking a moment to speak outside of my identity as an educator, I'd like to reflect on my personal beliefs. As finding my fulfilling career started with what I value in life. I have always felt drawn to creating meaningful relationships and putting in the work to understand who I am. From formal education to trying to navigate the world on my own, I've learned that it is vital to find people who will always be by your side to offer support and care. This is something that I always try to offer to the people in my life. Like my sister and brother-in-law, pictured left, to my friends and co-workers, I want to be someone who creates positive impacts for those around them.
