What is Online Safety?
Being safe online is referred to as online safety. It may seem straightforward, but all it takes is being watchful of the websites, links, images, questions, and other content that you (and your kids) allow yourself to access online. Although it should be obvious to students to avoid visiting bogus websites, if they don't, please have them watch the video below.
What CAN I do on the Internet?
You CAN use the internet to access information for assignments. If there is a website that you are unsure about, ask the teacher for approval before accessing the website.
You CAN use the internet during educational fun times – The teacher will let you know when it’s time for educational games and videos.
YouTube CAN be accessed on the internet when given permission by the teachers – Do not browse on YouTube during instructional time unless the teacher has given permission.
What CAN'T I do on the Internet?
There will be ZERO tolerance for cyberbullying. The internet is not a way to be mean and harmful to our classmates. Treat everyone with the same respect that you would like to be treated with.
