Materials Science Programme

Technological advancements are often constrained by the availability of materials with desired properties. To overcome these limitations, an in-depth understanding of the existing materials and the development of new functional materials must continue with precise focus. Achieving this often requires an integrated approach, amalgamating the principles of Science and Engineering.

With this vision, IIT Kanpur established the Materials Science Programme (MSP) in July, 1971. Currently engaging at the postgraduate level, MSP aims to leverage enhanced interdisciplinarity in research and development.
