What We Are Learning:
The month of September is a month where we spend most of this time getting to know one another and learning our classroom rules and expectations. We will begin working on a letter each week and we will start introducing a red word each week at the start of the school
Over the next month we will continue learning a new letter each week
Math: Number identification 0-10 and Comparing numbers 0-5.
ELA/Orton: Letters for the month: G, M, H, and L.
The red words that will be covered this month are as follows:the, is , and like. Please review your child's word list each night to help build their word recognition and maintenance of these important words.
Reading: Our main focus will be working on identifying the parts of a book and learning the jobs of the author and illustrator. We will spend the first part of the year exploring books and working on our comprehension skills during whole class read alouds.
Writing: We will be working on labeling and proper sentence structure.
