In this class we will be exploring the rights and responsibilities of American citizens and where they originated. Our cornerstones will be documents like the Bill of Rights and the Constitution, as well as landmark Supreme Court Cases that changed the way we look at some of our rights and privileges.
But we also want to understand how this can impact our daily lives and apply to us specifically. In other words- who cares and how does this affect me?
“Where you see wrong or inequality or injustice, speak out, because this is your country. This is your democracy. Make it. Protect it. Pass it on.”
— Thurgood Marshall, 1978 University of Virginia commencement speech
