Ignacio Allende, or more commonly known as Allende, is the pueblo that my parents were both born and raised in. Ironically, my parents did not meet in the small pueblo of Allende, instead they met here in Albuquerque when their families relocated here in search for better oportunites. Going to Allende every summer has been a family tradition that began when all of my aunts and uncles earned their citizenship and were able to go and come back.
It is a very special place to me because it reminds me of my cousins and of my childhood. Allende has become the one place that my family has their reunion and there is nothing like being surrounded by those you love. Another reason this place is very special to me is that although my parents didn't meet here, it reminds me of their love. Although they are not together, Allende reminds me of what it was like when they were together and in Allende, its like my parents were never divorced.
