Project Idea #1: "Fall In Love With Who You Are" Project
This will be a beginning of the year project where students highlight their interests, goals, and specific parts of what is most important and true to that individual.
Project Idea #2: Self-Identity: Ancestor Project
Digging deep into your family line and deepening your ancestral understanding. Highlighting who you are and learning more about your lineage.
Project Idea #3: Ocean and Sealife Conversation Project
Investigate local oceanic species and learn about what is harming our environment and how we can educate others on how to treat the local wildlife. We will take a field trip to our local beach for a trash clean-up (to understand how trash and other hazardous materials affect wildlife) and understand what and who is living within and around the ocean.
Project Idea #4: "What's On Your Plate?" Culture and Food Project
FOOD! We all love food, so let's learn about our classmates' favorite dishes. We will learn and showcase a dish from each student and learn the importance and background of their story. In class, we will either bring in the items or make them together. We will dig deep into the history and culture behind the dishes for better understanding.
Project Idea #5: Mind, Body, and Soul Project
I'm all about practicing and teaching self-care. I find mindfulness is a key skill that each individual should encompass. It's something that needs to be practiced over time and reflected on. I plan to teach students how to start understanding what they need, how they can take care of themselves by setting healthy boundaries, and learning how to make themselves the best version that they want to be.
