6th grade art is a course for students during the elective block in the junior high schedule. This year, students will have several opportunities to learn about how artists and designers use the elements and principles of art and design to create original works of art, collaborate with peers to design and create work, and experiment with a variety of art materials to express their own thoughts, ideas, and feelings. Students are also able to choose from a variety of project options in order to incorporate their personal interests into their own art making process. Some projects that students may work on include: Cubism self-portraits, perspective bedroom designs, data art illustrations, digital collages, and unconventional material sculpture.
