Course Overview:
Welcome to Personal Finance!!! In this course, you are going to learn real life strategies and techniques to succeed in the real world workplace. By the end of the year, you will learn how to be financially literate by working with simulations on banking, credit cards and any other aspects of finance. This course is a half year course, but your class will meet on even days throughout the entire year.
Projects/Tests/Classwork:
Assignments will be given on a daily basis and will be counted as class work. These assignments will be given on or off of the computer and will consist of case studies, or simulations. The class will also be broken up into teams to complete various assignments. Projects will be assigned and the class will be given sufficient time to complete the projects. All tests will be announced to class in order to prepare you.
If you are absent for a test or a class assignment, you will be expected to stay after and complete the missing work.
Grading:
Graded work will consist of class work, tests, and projects. All work is expected to be handed in on time.
Projects/Tests 50% of your grade
Class work 35% of your grade
Participation 15% of your grade
A final exam will be given at the end of the year and will count as 20% of your overall grade.
Attendance:
Your participation is weighed heavily on your attendance. Remember, a person working is usually only allowed 10 sick days per year. If you take too much time off at work, termination will be the end result!
