I am Professor of Development Economics at Witten/Herdecke University (Germany).

My main research interests are international economics of low-income countries (mainly trade policy and international finance), political and economic institutions, and sustainable development ( agriculture and environment) with a regional focus on Sub-Sahara Africa. I am also interested in causal inference.
