Stay current with research that supports improved student learning outcomes, including findings from learning science.
How am I reaching my goal? By interaction! I use Edpuzzle in my classroom too provide my students with a way to study and give them a chance to have fun with our material while still learning.
Pinterest is one way that I have actively worked towards this goal by creating a professional interest, it has allowed me to find lesson plan ideas, classroom management and many other items.
Educators seek opportunities for leadership to support student empowerment and success and to improve teaching and learning.
2.2a Advance a Shared Vision
Shape, advance, and accelerate a shared vision for empowered learning with technology by engaging with education stakeholders.
2.2b Advocate for Equitable Access
Educators advocate for equitable access to technology, high-quality digital content, and learning opportunities to meet the diverse needs of all students.
2.2c Model Digital Tool Use
Model for colleagues the identification, exploration, evaluation, curation, and adoption of new digital resources and tools for learning.
Having my Common License with my website is a great way to show my progress towards promoting legal sharing content and ensuring that all my work is posted on my website with protection, and I expect my students to follow those rules also.
Examples
As an agriculture education classroom with students who are interested in writing things, I will start a newsletter and share information about what's going on within, and I will the chapter and in the classroom send it out to faculty, parents, and community members.
I will also be in a lot of aged teacher groups to find some opportunities for myself and my students. Teaching groups on Facebook have many free ideas and resources for teachers around the world to use.
Educators inspire students to positively contribute to and responsibly participate in the digital world.
2.3a Create Positive Experiences
Educators create experiences for learners to make positive, socially responsible contributions and build inclusive communities online.
2.3b Evaluate Resources for Credibility
Educators foster digital literacy by encouraging curiosity, reflection, and the critical evaluation of digital resources.
2.3c Model Safe, Legal, Ethical Practices
Educators mentor students in safe, legal, and ethical practices with digital tools and content.
2.3d Manage, Protect Data
Educators model and promote the management of personal data, digital identity, and protection of student data.
Examples
I will use a padlet to allow students to have a safe space to post their interactions for students having questions about anything or turning in assignments.
I will use the pause-and-think strategy for students. This will help implement a time for them to think about what we learned about after each lecture.
Educators dedicate time to collaborate with both colleagues and students to improve practice, discover and share resources and ideas. and solve problems.
2.4a Collaborate with Colleagues
Dedicate planning time to collaboration with colleagues to create authentic learning experiences that leverage technology.
2.4b Learn Alongside Students
Collaborate and co-learn with students to discover and use new digital resources and diagnose and troubleshoot technology issues.
2.4c Use Collaborative Tools
Use collaborative tools to expand students' authentic, real-world learning experiences by engaging virtually with experts, teams, and students, locally and globally.
2.4d Demonstrate Cultural Competency
Demonstrate cultural competency when communicating with students, parents, and colleagues and interacting with them as co-collaborators in student learning.
I will use Padlet again for my students to have this chance to discuss questions or topics we need to reevaluate anything. Students can answer with video, text, drawing, image, and more. This tool is great for getting students to work together and communicate virtually.
Throughout my E-Portfolio, I can ensure that parents and colleagues or other educators know that there are numerous ways to contact me. I encourage them to reach out so I can be a better collaborator and contributor in the school system.
Educators design authentic, learner-driven activities and environments that recognize and accommodate learner variability.
2.5a Accommodate Learner Differences
Use technology to create, adapt, and personalize learning experiences that foster independent learning and accommodate learners
2.5b Design Authentic Learning Activities
Educators design authentic learning activities that align with educational standards and use digital tools and resources to maximize learning
2.5c Innovative, Equitable Learning Environments
Educators apply evidence-based instructional design principles to create innovative and equitable digital learning environments that support learning
I will design a Gimkit which is a great example of using technology to create learning experiences that accomidate students needs. It is a great tool because it can be used for many different subjects as well as many purposed because it can be used to introduce a concept as well as assess one.
I have found an activity for students to do which is a paper plate marble run, and in this activity they have to follow step-by-step instructions and this gets them ready for the classroom activities we do for animal science.
Educators facilitate learning with technology to support student achievement of the ISTE Standards for Students
2.6a Foster Student Ownership of Learning
Foster a culture where students take ownership of their learning goals and outcomes in both independent and group settings.
2.6b Foster Classroom Management of Tech
Manage the use of technology and student learning strategies in digital platforms, virtual environments, hands-on maker spaces, and in the field.2.6c Teach Computational and Design Thinking Create learning opportunities that challenge students to use a design process and computational thinking to innovate and solve problems.2.6d Model and Nurture Creativity Model and nurture creativity and creative expansion to communicate ideas, knowledge, or connections.
This Kahoot! game, and others I will make throughout the year, allows students to test their knowledge and see what areas of the subject they need to work on. The instructional design creates a more engaging and fun way to review the materials they need to know for the test coming up.
I will create a problem-based learning lesson plan and activity for my students to complete. I will have my students create a poster for the Female and Male reproduction tract and have them present it to their classmates.
My online lesson module project is a great way of showing how we use technology to allow students to accomplish their goals. I facilitated this by allowing students to think of new ways to solve problems.
Educators understand and use data to drive their instruction and support students in achieving their learning goals.
2.7a Offer Alternative Assessments
Provide alternative ways for students to demonstrate competency and reflect on their learning using technology.
2.7b Use Tech to Create Assessments
Use technology to design and implement a variety of formative and summative assessments that accommodate learner-need instruction.
2.7c Use Data to Guide Progress
Use assessment data to guide progress and communicate with students, parents, and education stakeholders to build student self-direction.
This Fun and interactive learning opportunity uses innovative technology to drill important concepts with students while at the same their responses in an informal manner. I can use quiz results as a formative based on the student assessment and adapt instruction at the same time, allowing me as an instructor to analyze the demonstration of knowledge.
I will also use a rubric to allow me to collect data about my students work and use it to assess their performance; it is designed to be used at the end of every section about animal science topics.
