Our lab is involved in a comprehensive understanding of aquatic microbial ecology and functionality using the latest high-throughput sequencing technologies. Using an advance bioinformatics approach, we delineate the AMR, virulence potential, taxonomic diversity, and metabolic potential of the river microbes.
Our lab possesses expertise in revealing the unique microbial ecology and functionality of extremophilic lakes and hot springs. We also aim to isolate microbes from these environments that would have potential industrial importance. Image source: Google
Our lab is actively involved in using microbes (Bacteria and Fungi) and their potential consortia for degradation of recalcitrant pollutants such as Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH), Phenols, and others. We use modern analytical tool, genomics and metagenomics approach for designing such potential microbial consortia. Image source: Google
In this applied world, we also explore tiny life forms for their potential biotechnological value. We are involved in various research that requires synthesis of platform chemicals, conversion of waste products to industrial products, and secondary metabolites. Our main aim is to translate academic information into industrial usefulness. Image source: Google
We are also involved in studying gut-associated microbes. Till now, we have worked on different aspects of Helicobacter and Ochrobactrum. We employ combination of genomics, metagenomics and transcriptomic approach to study this aspect. Image source: Google
