Unit 3: Cultural Patterns and Processes

This unit focuses on addressing cultural patterns associated and processes that create recognized cultural identities. Developing Understanding for this unit:

• How the physical environment can determine cultural practices

• Cultural landscape and how it changes over time

• Analyzing images of different places at different times for evidence for their ethnicity, language, religion, gender roles and attitudes, and other cultural attributes

• How culture spreads through traditional forces such as colonialism and imperialism to more modern influences such as social media
