There’s a great deal of scientific uncertainty around when tipping points will be triggered. We do know that the risk increases with every 0.1 C degree of warming, every ton of emissions.
Achieving the 1.5 C target would not make us safe. At the same time, we are not doomed if we exceed 2.0 C.
Substantial future warming is not inevitable.
The largest source of uncertainty is what humans will do.
