Enduring Understandings:
- The president is responsible for executing, or enforcing the law
- Executive departments oversee the enforcement of law in 15 different broad policy areas
- The president has 6 roles: chief of state, chief executive, chief legislator, head of party, commander in chief of the Armed Forces, and chief diplomat
- The president is elected through a popular vote and an Electoral College vote
