BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Mukesh Singh Boori is an Assistant Professor in Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Central Asia (UCA), School of Arts and Sciences. He has over 20+ years of research and teaching experience. Prior to joining UCA, he worked as a scientist and senior scientist at JSAC/ISRO India, NOAA/NASA USA and Samara University (Aerospace) Russia. He has been associated with several institutions, including Murdoch University Australia, University of Southern Denmark (SDU) and Aarhus University Denmark, Liaoning Normal University (LNU-MSU) China, United Arab Emirates University UAE, University of Rennes 2 France, University of Bonn and Ruhr University Bochum Germany, Hokkaido University Japan, Palacky University Czech Republic, Leicester University UK, American Sentinel University USA, ITMO University St. Petersburg and Kazan Federal University Russia, Vrije University Belgium, JECRC University, JKLU University and MDS University India.
He has a postdoc from University of Maryland USA, a Ph.D. from Federal University-RN (UFRN) Brazil, a predoc from Katholieke University Leuven Belgium, an MSc from MDS University and a BSc from University of Rajasthan India. He received several prestigious awards, including the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) fellowship through the National Research Council (NRC) central government of USA Washington DC, European Union Social Fund, an honorary fellow from the University of Leicester UK, a prestigious Brazil-Italy government fellowship, a Belgian and Indian government space fellowship and three-time Best Paper Award at ITNT Russia and ICIKM Hong Kong.
He has been PI or Co-I on 36 grants internationally (worth >$5.4M) and he has authorship on 135+ peer-reviewed publications in good journals and conferences with more than 2000 citations (h-index 25 / i10 - 50), including books, as a first author in the earth and space science field. His prime research interest is satellite earth observations through remote sensing and GIS technology, with special attention to ecology, ecosystems and environment via machine learning. He is a member of many scientific societies, journals and committees, has led several projects, organized several conferences, delivered conference opening ceremony speeches, keynote speakers, plenary session talks, invited talks, invited webinar presentations, chaired sessions and visited 30 countries on official trips in five continents except Africa and Antarctica.
