This is Coach Skroch’s 23rd year coaching at Romeoville High School. In 2002-2003 he started as the Head Freshman Coach and in 2004-2005 he became the Head Sophomore Coach, winning the school’s last conference championship with the 2005-2006 sophomore team (SICA North Championship). In 2011-2012 Coach Skroch joined Coach Dave Haskins as the Varsity Assistant Coach. In the summer of 2016, Coach Skroch was named Head Coach of RHS Baseball. In 2019 the RHS Varsity reached their first Regional Championship in 15 years. They repeated the feat in 2021. During his 23 years at RHS Coach Skroch has been working with players at all positions, hitters, and pitchers.
In the Fall of 2020, Coach Skroch became the head coach of ESP Red 2024 after assisting with ESP Black during the 2019 and 2020 seasons. Throughout the 15U fall to the 18U season, ESP Red 2024 had 40 players play under the ESP Red 2024 name and 26 of these players moved on to play college baseball, 3 to play college football, and 1 to play college basketball. These players moved on to play NJCAA, NCAA D3, D2, and D1, and NAIA. The players received education, consulting, online support, and profile building through Coach Skroch. Through this process of educating and helping these players be recruited, Coach Skroch has developed a passion for helping baseball players and their families navigate the baseball recruiting world. Recruiting can be a very stressful time for a player and their family and Coach Skroch has realized that an educated player and family can be a huge advantage to a player who would like the opportunity to play baseball at the college level. This advantage can help alleviate some of the stress of the process.
Coach Skroch also served as the pitching coach for the Chicago Scout Association 2024 Team in the Fall of 2022.
Coach is a student of the game attending many clinics and speakers. Coach Skroch is a member of the ABCA and the IHSBCA.
Coach Skroch played soccer and baseball at Naperville North High School. After high school Coach attended and played baseball at Aurora University, coached by Mark Walsh. In 1998 and 1999 the team advanced to the NCAA Div III College World Series. Finishing 4th in 1998 and 7th in 1999. Coach Skroch finished his playing career after the 2001 season. Coach earned his BA in Mathematics/Secondary Education in 2002 from Aurora University, with a 4.0 GPA, and his MA in Educational Leadership from Concordia University in 2006 from Concordia University - Chicago, also with a 4.0 GPA. Coach Skroch is currently in his 23rd year as a math teacher at Romeoville High School in Romeoville, IL.
Coach Skroch lives in Yorkville, IL. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Valerie, and has two children, Simon (19 - University of Minnesota LHP) and Gracie (17). Coach has 1 dog and 2 cats. Coach Skroch’s time is largely taken up by baseball, but when away from baseball he likes to spend time with his family, golf, and travel.
