Where I stand on AI:
As an elementary teacher, I find AI to be very helpful for me! I have used AI several times in the classroom, which I will list more about below. I have personally not intoduced it to my students to use, so I have not had issues with them using it. I could see how AI could do more harm than help when it comes to middle school and high school level students. I think as a teacher, it's a great tool to use, if you know how to use it.
AI tools:
I personally have used ChatGPT several times. While there are many ways to use it, one way that I like to use it in my classroom is to create simple word problems for my students to solve in math, as shown above. I can then take these basic word problems and customize them with my students names or interests.
MagicSchool AI is a great AI resource for educators. There are so many ways to use it, but one of my favorite tools is the choice board feature. I have used it to make choice boards for my students to practice their spelling words, as shown above.
Diffit is an AI resource for creating reading passages on any topic at multiple reading levels. In addition to the passages, Diffit provides important vocabulary, multiple choice and written response questions. If you have the pro version, you can specify which learning standards you would like to be covered.
