My name is Alin Saidali, I am currently enrolled in my 5th year at Brock University within the Concurrent Education Program. As a future Junior/intermediate educator I hope to use my passion for multiculturalism, diversity, inclusivity, social justice issues and the importance of identity to be a big part of my classroom environment. As someone who experienced it herself in the classroom, I hope to give students a room to safely grow into who they are without the need to try and fit in. I hope to get my additional qualification in ELL (English language learners) by experiencing an unforgettable experience in China with Brock University. I hope to get this additional qualification because I have experienced the importance of teaching ELL individuals as my parents were ELL learners as well. I want to transfer all my skills and qualities as an individual who grew up with parents as refugees and had Kurdish for her main language at home to help other students who are in the same position as an educator. My dream is to go back to Kurdistan and teach there and hopefully volunteer my time in the refugee camps.
