Hello!

Hi there!

My name is Cynthia Alarcon (Traxler-MacDonough), and this school year marks my 5th year teaching and my second year as a member of the Bridgeland Bears family!Although this year may look different, I am SO excited for this school year to begin, and I am looking forward to getting to know all of my students as well as their parents/guardians!

A little about me!

I was born and raised in Houston, where I graduated from Cypress Falls High School class of 2009! I went to Texas State University in San Marcos, where I received my Bachelors of Arts degree in Geography with a double minor in History and Political Science. I have my Texas teaching certification in Social Studies Composite for grades 8-12.

I recently got married in June- had to postpone our wedding abroad due to Covid :( but I was grateful to be able to have a small ceremony with our family in Houston.

I love to watch movies and Game of Thrones, read, hang out with family, friends and husband, try new things, eat, and of course travel! Growing up, I had the privilege of traveling to Guatemala as well as many other Central American countries with my family. This was the beginning of my travel bug! I have had the opportunity to travel throughout the United States, as well as abroad. It is one of my life goals to travel to a new country every year, as well as learn a new language. (also, I am fluent in Spanish!)

As an educator, it is my goal to provide my students with the tools and knowledge to not only be successful in my class, but for their future! I will work hard to challenge my students to think beyond the coursework and to become aware of and think critically about the world around them, and I will be the guiding force towards those new boundaries of thought.

If you would like to contact me , please see the "Contact" page on my website, where I will do my best to answer your questions, comments, or concerns in a timely manner! I also have social media where I will be posting to keep you in the loop!
