Judges for this year'sn showchoir competition are Lora Jean Jones, Jeff Gemar, and Josiah Telschow. A cappella division judges are Regan Surges, Joseph Powell, and Adonijah Mpinga. Solo judge will be Mallorie Saucier.
We will be using the Condorcet method for scoring this year. If there is any sort of tie, the Borda method will be used to break the tie, and if a tie still ensues, we will use raw score.
Students will enter via the stage left door to the outside sidewalk. A member of our backstage crew will let you know when they can begin entering. They may enter the wings, but may NOT cross the tape to the stage until we indicate that your time is beginning. If students cross the tape, your time will automatically begin.
Props/backdrops will enter through the rolling door. There will also be tape here. If they cross the tape, your time begins.
A designated timer will be backstage. He will tell you when you can cross the tape and at that point he will start your time. He will shadow the director so that you don't have to look for him once you are set.
Once you are set and ready to begin, you will tell the timer you are ready. He will stop the timer for the announcement and the curtain.
Your time will begin again with the first note and will continue until all personnel and equipment is back across the appropriate line.
Students and costume racks will exit stage right. Props and equipment will exit back through the roll up door. Once everything is across the tape, your time will stop.
The penalty is 2 points (per judge) for everything 30 seconds that you exceed the 30-minute time limit. For example, if your time over is 2:26, then you will be assessed a 10-point penalty per judge.
For those who use the 4th riser, you will NOT be timed for our crew setting up the 4th riser.
