Mrs. Rahe’s Physical Education Policy:
Dress Code
Bring your P.E appropriate clothing to school as it is a requirement to change your clothes for class or wear P.E. appropriate clothes to school.
This is required by Fremont City Schools District dress code policy.
Shorts/Sweatpants
Must fit properly at the waist.
NO bike shorts/Spandex shorts that are shorter than mid-thigh.
Shirts: Shall touch the lower body clothing when a student’s arms are raised. No portion of the midriff shall be exposed. Shirts must also have sleeves.
All student athletes must dress every day while in season. Failure to do so will be reported to the athletic department and your coaches will decide what your consequence will be.
Appropriate Footwear:
Tennis shoes and socks must be worn at all times in the gym.
NO Crocs!!
Failure to wear appropriate shoes can result in alternative assignments to earn credit for the day or not being able to participate.
Repeat failure will result in parent notification and/or removal from activities.
Locker Rooms:
Locker rooms are not to be used during class unless it is an emergency.
There is to be NO MISBEHAVING in the locker room!
If you are unable to behave in the locker room, you will be removed and be given an alternative location to change for class.
Any bags will need to stay in areas designated by the teacher.
Gym Procedures:
Water bottles are permitted as long as it is being used responsibly.
No gum, candy, or food is allowed in class as it is a safety concern.
Students must enter the gym through the doors nearest the main office.
Students must stay in the Gym at all times unless the teacher is notified.
When leaving the gym you must exit through the locker room hallway.
Please leave any personal items in your bookbag, locker or at home.
There will be a 3 strike and done disciplinary action taken for disruptions in class. If a student earns their 3rd strike they will be removed from the activity and asked to sit on the side, losing all participation points for the day. Homework will then be sent home to complete. Once homework is completed and returned, the points will then be earned back.
Medical Excuses/ Missed Class Time:
If you are unable to participate and have a doctor's note, this is an excused absence from class. A note needs to be provided to both the teacher and office.
Missed class time for any other reason, the student will need to complete makeup work in order to receive credit for missed class.
If absent, you will get 0/10 points for that day in Progressbook. You will then need to read a sport/wellness/fitness article of your choice or watch a sporting event. Then on a piece of paper write summarize what you read or watched in 5 sentences for each day of class missed. These articles can come from a newspaper/magazine, sports journal or online resources. By writing these 5 sentences you will be given 10/10 points for each missed day of school.
THIS IS DUE AT THE END OF THE QUARTER!
Students are expected to complete 5 days of work, no matter if we have an online day of instruction. All assignments will be located in Google Classroom.
Non-Tolerable Behaviors
Repeat failure to dress appropriately for class.
Repeat failure to follow directions, little to no effort displayed, and foul language.
Being a negative teammate.
No Cell phones should be used or visible in the gym. Cell phones should stay in your bookbag or locker in the pods. Any violation can result in the cell phone being taken to the office for the parent to later pick up. This also includes no use of headphones/airpods as this would be a violation of the cell phone rule.
Play and Have Fun!
This class is only as fun as you make it. Get involved, get your classmates involved and play the games the right way. Not giving the games a chance and just standing around is not a fun environment. Lack of trying and hustling makes physical education not fun and the grade you receive will reflect your effort.
GRADING POLICY:
Physical Education is a participation course that requires students to be dressed for class and to participate fully throughout the duration of class. Everyone is capable of giving their best effort. Yes we will do activities that you may not like but you need to participate!
Daily Assessment:
Every day, points are earned on effort, behavior, dressing for class and participation. Everyday a maximum of 10 points can be earned.
Projects:
For every project a rubric will be given over what will need to be included in the project to earn full credit. Each project will be for a grade.
