Unit 1: Statistics

Data Collection:

• Extra Practice Problems in Big Ideas Textbook: Pg. 590 #5-10, 17, 18, 29 (I suggest practicing making a dot plot for each in addition to the directions)
• Khan Academy: I recommend watching both videos in this sequence and then completing the practice problems if you are struggling.

Outliers, Shape, and Distribution

• Extra Practice Problems in Big Ideas Textbook: Pg. 590 #15, 16, 31 and Pg. 604 #1, 3-4, 15 (instead of histograms, you can make dot plots to find the shape)
• Khan Academy: We will only focus on symmetric (uniform distribution), left skew, and right skew. I recommend completing the "Shape of Distributions Practice" and "Describing Distributions Practice."

Correlation and Causation

• Extra Practice Problems in Big Ideas Textbook: Pg. 199 #1-14
• Khan Academy: I would definitely complete the practice problems that Khan academy has included in this article.

• Extra Practice Problems in Big Ideas Textbook: Pg. 200 #13-18, 22, 23, 24 (When making the line of best fit, also identify and describe the slope and y-intercept. You do not need to make an equation.
• Khan Academy: I would complete the entire section titled Estimating with Trend Lines. It includes a lot of information and practice.
