My goal for this school year is to make a learning environment where everyone feels welcome and comfortable with sharing their ideas. I want to have learning in my classroom be a fun and meaningful experience for the students. Overall I want the students to enjoy this school year!
I have many other goals for our class over the course of this year, and will be updating some of our goals with each new unit.
RESPECT
RESPECT
A year round goal for our classroom is to have RESPECT for ourselves and others. RESPECT stands for: Responsibility, Excellence, Service, Persistence, Enthusiasm, Collaboration, Trust. We value all of these things and believe they will lead to a more positive learning environment.

Throughout the year the students are going to be tasked with meeting standards set by the Iowa Core. As a class our goal for the year is to have 80% of our class meet proficiency on every standard this year!

Reading
Reading
I like to encourage my students to read at home so over the course of this year we have a goal to read 150 hours each month as a class! This means each student must read for 8 hours at home each month. As a reward for this if the students meet this goal each month they will get to eat lunch in my class room on the last day of the month! You will find a google spreadsheet on the resources page where you can fill out your child's hours to help us track this goal!
