Braswell art classes are yearlong classes filled with projects, activities, and assignments that will help improve critical thinking, creativity, social skills, and collaborative participation.
Since lifelong success depends in part on learning how to make responsible choices, we have developed classroom styles in which students are responsible for their own learning! Our focus is to explore art though various mediums, styles, and developing good studio habits.

ART CLASSES at Braswell have an Art Fee. This fee will be charged to the Student’s account and can be paid online through HAC.

All students will need to purchase a 9x12 mixed media spiral sketchbook with at least 100 pages. You can order from amazon (link below) or purchase from Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Target, or Walmart.

I expect each student to participate 100%! Maximum Effort!
Denton ISD is no longer allowing cell phones in classrooms, unless part of a lesson! I expect your student to put away and turn off phone. Phones will be taken up if not!
I expect each and every student to follow all procedures and policies.
Grading Policy
Grading Policy
Grading: All work is expected to be worked on and completed during class time. Time management and classroom participation is very important. There will NOT be “free time” in class. You are expected to work bell to bell.
Students will be graded on:
Completion of assignment
Unit objectives
Craftsmanship and neatness
Originality and execution
Students who complete the above 4 grading points will earn a passing grade on assignments.
Incomplete or missing (MSG) will receive a failing grade unless the assignment is finished turned back in for reassessment. This will be based on individual needs.
Students have only 4 school days after the assignment has been graded to reassess. If nothing is turned in on the due date, students cannot reassess the work. Barely started work is NOT acceptable.
To be eligible for the extension, students MUST turn in an assignment that is at least 50% complete.
Students may finish assignments at home or during tutorials.
100s are only given for projects that have exceeded ALL expectations.
