My Teaching Experiences

My Experience:

Since starting my program in 2017, I needed help determining what I wanted to do for my career. I started looking around and talking to my peers, and I spoke to an old teacher of mine after changing my major in 2019. She helped me see that teaching has always been my passion! During the Spring of 2022, I had the opportunity to Student Teach at two different schools. The first group was a 3rd-grade class at Riverview Elementary, and the second was another 3rd-grade class here at Kingswood Elementary. Both classes I had were great to me during student teaching. The mentors were very supportive, and they wanted me to succeed! In June 2022, I started working at La Petite Academy (daycare and preschool). I was there for one year and worked with infants aged six weeks to 1 year and preschoolers two years to five years old. It was my first real teaching experience, and it was amazing! From then on, I knew I made the right choice for my path! I see a new group of bright faces and eager minds each year. Still, with each fun "Hello!" behind it is a sad "Goodbye" to the students who will continue without me. Still, I can relax knowing I have positively impacted each class and given them 100%!

My Teaching Style:

I am a very family-oriented person; I am also very sentimental. I want to foster a classroom family and create a classroom culture that is open, positive, and a safe space for all of my students! I am a calm and fun teacher. I am compassionate and loving but I can also be firm when needed. I ensure every child has what they need to succeed in my class. It is okay for students to ask questions of any kind; children are naturally curious, and as a teacher, I help them explore the world with a purpose. I believe in the power of play, and I am not afraid to play along with my students. Singing, playing, and having fun are okay, but I will be sure your child learns something new daily!
