Reading is important to learn for children because it is the basic building block of all other subjects and life skills. It assists in building vocabulary and helps the student with future jobs. Another reason reading is important is because it develops an imagination for young children.

Good literature is important because it increases vocabulary, builds imagination, and improves focus. Selecting good literature encourages the student to read and helps them enjoy it better when it is something they can comprehend.
