Jacque Fitzgerald M.Ed. takes a student centered approach to education and understands that students learn best when they receive instruction and coaching for both the head and the heart. As a writer herself, Ms. Fitz carries her experience as a practitioner into her instruction with students by asking them to think like writers, which ultimately makes them better readers. She believes transparency around expectations is paramount. She centers engaging and relevant curriculum in her practice, challenging students to reach the next level of their potential as a reader and writer through modeling and timely feedback.
Her superhero powers include distilling complex ideas, developing strategic solutions for tricky problems, effusive compassion, and nurturing developing writers. She also loves oreos, novel and blog writing, kayaking, and dabbles in DJing.
"After 20 years in the field of education, it's rare to find someone who is able to simultaneously connect with students, create relevant content, challenge students to think critically, and coach them to articulate their thoughts eloquently. Without question, Jacque Fitzgerald is one of those gems. As a teacher, coach, and parents with over 20 years of experience, I would gladly entrust my children to her care. It's sure to be accessible, effective, and rigorous."
"I am still so thankful that I got to learn from Ms. Fitz. I always hated school, and was only there because I had to be. Senior English was the exception. I still have notes from the exercises we did those last few weeks of school! That class actually left a positive impression on me as a person. Yes, it is how she teaches, but it is also just her heart. I knew she always had our backs."
"Jacque Fitzgerald has impacted my own teaching practice immensely during the past five years. She is a master teacher who artfully develops engaging student centered and student-driven curriculum that engenders empathy and passion in her students. Her attention to individual social, emotional, and academic need is unsurpassed and her student-achievement outcomes speak for themselves."
